Prototypes normally are built full scale but can be built in any scale that you specify.

Mockups are as a rule a bit simpler than full working prototypes and are generally created to show size, shape and basic details. We can create a mockup of your product in full scale or any scale that you specify. Mockups also make great trade show displays when you do not want to (or cannot) bring the genuine article to a show due to weight, cost or competition sensitive design features you would rather not show in full scale.

Scale models can be created in scale ranging from tiny hand held models to nearly full scale. The level of detail is entirely up to you; we can accommodate any requirement you may have. Often a scale model is a scale representation of a product, showing all exterior details and finishes. However, cutaways, windows, and removable sections can also be created to show off the interior of the model if required. Additional custom features such as lighting, moving parts, automation, etc. can be added too. Just tell us what you want, and we will make it happen.

Laser cutting and engraving are processes that we use in house in our model making and custom fabrication work. We also offer laser cutting and engraving as a service. If you have parts that you need cut or engraved, we can do that for you. The best materials for Laser cutting are Acrylic plastic (AKA Plexiglas), soft woods and paper and card stock. Molds
We create RTV rubber mold for resin casting and fiberglass molds for fiberglass and composite parts. We have experience in creating molds ranging in size from less than one cubic inch to a full size boat. Whatever your mold needs are, we can do it. All molds are created using vacuum technology which allows for pressure casting and perfect, voidless parts.

At Akrivia we have a huge amount of experience in resin casting and we can produce the highest quality castings. Our retail company www.gcmini.com produces and sells resin cast pieces to the hobby/game market and has received the highest praise for the quality of our castings.
Custom Fabrication
Perhaps you do not need a model, a mockup or a prototype; you just want something made. Something for your home, your car, or airplane. We can do that too. With experience ranging from carpentry, machining, welding, painting, electrical and electronics, plastics, composites we like to say, "if you can imagine it, we can build it!".

At Akrivia we use 3D modeling in nearly every project we undertale. The modleing in done in house on our Dell workstations using the latest in 3D modeling software. We use both desktop machines and notebooks for access to CAD data in the shop at the craftsman's workbench.

2D CAD services are also available to clients as a stand alone service in the cases where you need something modeled digitally but you do not need a physical model at this time. Creating a digital model now allows you the freedom to decide later if you want a physical model or mockup at a reduced cost becasue the engineering is already done.

At Akrivia we have in house vinyl cutting capabilites that we use in connection with our model and mockup fabrication. We also offer this as a stand alone service. If you need graphics cut for your vehicle, store window, your own model, or you just want a cool custom sticker, we can do that too.
